WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Interns at agricultural companies are invited to attend a Field Scout Intern Training event hosted by the Purdue Crop Diagnostic Training and Research Center. The instructors will teach the basics of agronomic scouting and relevant practices in agriculture.

Purdue specialists will cover pest identification and management, crop production and growth staging. The training will be held 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET May 19 at the Beck Agricultural Center, 4550 US 52, West Lafayette.

“The information presented at this training will provide participants with basic terminology and general knowledge, like corn and soybean growth and development and pest identification, as they begin their agronomic internships this coming summer,” said Corey Gerber, director of the Purdue Crop Diagnostic Training & Research Center.

The registration fee is $140 per individual if mailed in, or $141 if registering online. Register by May 17. The full agenda can be found online. Lunch is included in the registration fee.
